Lila Gendal

Head Trainer

Ms. Lila Gendal grew up in Vermont where her passion for horses began at a very young age. From middle school through high school, Lila spent every waking second at Hitching Post Farm in South Royalton VT, where she rode anything and everything she could get her hands on. After two years at St. Lawrence University, she decided to take time off from college to begin working as a student for Denny Emerson in 2006, which would ultimately shape Lila as a rider and trainer in the years to come. After a decade under Denny's guidance and graduating from The University of Vermont in 2010, Lila decided to pack her belongings, including a small Irish horse, and head to Ocala FL. Lila has trained with some of the best in the industry, and while she rode and trained countless horses, BT Just A Rebel (Rollo) would help shape her career as an upper level event rider. The pair went from training level to the 4* level in five years and had countless FEI top 10 placings and awards throughout their career. Lila and “Rollo” are still a pair, and while their time has been dedicated to the sport of Eventing, Lila is looking forward to spending more time in the jumper ring. Lila has always been a fierce competitor, a dedicated trainer and loves working with all age students. Lila is the assistant director of a non-profit called Pay It Forward Equestrian, an organization dedicated to supporting equestrians in need. In her spare time, she writes for several magazines, loves working out and spending time with those closest to her.
